    Now that the dust is settling after the London Summer Olympics, many from the local community are left wondering who the Olympics benefited. This story features local Councillor, Ian Rathbone of Hackney Council, one of the poorest boroughs in all of Britain. Local residents turned into campaigners forming the Save Leyton Marsh Campaign when their local public green space was appropriated by the Olympic Delivery Authority for a Olympic basketball training facility. Members of Occupy London also became involved in the local campaign when the locals couldn’t sustain it on their own. Has the Olympics been an excuse for a land grab by cash-strapped local authorities and big business?
